Let us update the story for you.

bRoTheRmAn & his fellow Groove Assassins have made the long, arduous trip to Planet Earth, from their various solar systems, to investigate life in this world, up close and personal. They have assumed human forms, to infiltrate the day-to-day workings of life on Earth, and are thus Incognito. They have been sent to gather real intelligence on the infant planet Earth, with the ultimate goal of developing a long-term plan for Earth’s Evolutionary Revolution.

As always they report back to the High Commission of Groove.

In the words of Asalam Welch:

“Being an intergalactic trash man is no prize. It takes dedication and more faith than a whole stack of churches. The Rider of Dark Corners still rides. It’s been two years and the only changes in the grand scheme of worldly affairs have been for the worse. Water has become the new oil and the rivers remain polluted and filthy. That’s why it takes dedication to clean up the universe. You see, the demons and the wicked never sleep and a moment lost is just another opportunity for some cursed spirit to get away with murder. This is the state of the days in which we live. Rest assured though it’s a good fight – the only alternative being antipathy for the plight of every one of us, with a resultant mass carelessness. Satellites floating, broken and useless, plastic, polystyrene, space hardware, nuclear products, atomic energy, coal fires – there’s a lot to clean up. It’s lucky I don’t face this alone. There are more of us, the Groove Assassins, and we’re ready to challenge this machine, for all it’s dishonesty, and lay it to ruin. It’s all that can be done and no amount of red tape will stop our will. We’re here to assassinate the spoon-fed ways of the lazy and uninformed. To show to all the reasons to remain committed to the goodness of love, beauty, nature, freedom, personal growth, corporate petrifaction, relationships, holding hands, believing in a better tomorrow, mass disarmament and fizzy lollipops.

So this is my message:
Clean up the trash whatever it is, from plagiarized ideas and junk food boxes to roadside rubbish – wherever it is, on the TV, in the streets, in your lives – and once and for all groove out to what your soul is trying to get out from way down in there. There is purpose to your most glorious existence and the only way to get to it is to stop trashing yourselves and move to the rhythm you feel.”

So if you feel that you’re being had, by the powers that be. If you feel that there must be more to life than American politics, work and Amway. If you believe that maybe, just maybe, we can dream a better place…

Redrum the title of the album, reversed spells 'Murder'. In this context meaning murder on the dance floor. It's inspired by the DJ battles won by Redwood and the inhalation of the competitors faced in the battle arena. It's war out there, may the best man be left standing.


The Album is a mixture Redwood own productions mostly made with turntables and beatboxing and a compilation of other top local artists with particular focus on turntable music and hip-hop. Not the hip-POP the general public is acustomed to hearing, but real hip-hop from the streets where it began that is made to feed the soul, before the dilution of sugar water, and glitter coated candy balls.

There is also a Rap Metal track by Pestroy which features Redwood on the cuts.

Other featured Artists include: Mr Mo and G-Steel, Sibot, DJ Niffty (Idol Hands), Trip Wire (Pestroy), Leks Mano and more.

The disk also includes videos of Redwood doing his thing on the decks plus a routine by 'The Idol Hands Table Band'. This band of tablists comprises of DJ's Redwood and Niffty who perform composed tracks live on turntables.
